Bobby Valentine is a former professional baseball player and manager. He was born on May 13, 1950, in Stamford, Connecticut. Valentine played in the MLB for the Los Angeles Dodgers, California Angels, San Diego Padres, New York Mets, and Seattle Mariners.
After his playing career, Valentine transitioned to coaching and managing. He served as the manager of the Texas Rangers in the MLB and also managed the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan. Valentine is known for his energetic and sometimes controversial managerial style.
In addition to his baseball career, Valentine has also worked as a baseball analyst for ESPN and as the athletic director at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. He is currently the director of public safety and health for the city of Stamford.
